Dear Student,
Welcome to the ELSSI course! I am writing this letter to introduce myself and tell you about my background and what I did this summer. Please read to the bottom, your first homework assignment is described below.
First,
my name is Brent Jones. I was born in a small town in central California
and grew up in Oregon
and Hawaii. I came to
Japan
as an exchange student in 1989 and began teaching English at about the
same time. I currently teach at Kwansei
Gakuin , Kinki
University, Konan
University and Osaka NHK
Culture Center.
Hobbies
I enjoy are reading
(especially suspense and mysteries), collecting stamps and coins, and playing with my 4-year-old
daughter. I also enjoy
camping, surfing,
skiing, working as a volunteer with
blind people in the Kansai area
and traveling (inside Japan and around the world). Please visit my other homepage
if you would like to see some pictures from our trip this summer.
This
has been a busy summer. After returning to Japan, I finished writing
some papers I hope to publish and continued designing the ELSSI course.
I also
took my daughter to the pool and played golf a couple of times. Anyway,
I'm refreshed and ready to start the new term.
Good
luck with your studies. Please let me know if you have any troubles and
we will try to work it out together.
Your
first homework assignment is to write a response to this letter.
I would like to learn as much as possible about you, your family,
hobbies and interests, hopes and dreams, etc. Please send your letter
to me as an e-mail message at bjones_jp@yahoo.com.
Best
Regards,
Brent A. Jones
